Floor ventilation in urban areas is immensely important due to the increasing sealing of surfaces, such as floor paving up to the trunk. Because if the exchange of soil gases and oxygen is disturbed, this will lead to a decline in growth and finaly to the death of the tree. Consequently, that means that adequately supplied roots cause less damage to the surrounding infrastructure, such as growing into power lines or pushing up surface coverings.
The deep aeration ensures gas exchange down to the deep-lying substrate layers sealed underneath traffic areas, such as footpaths or bike lanes. It is also used when several plant pits are to be connected.
Ventilation is enabled via a ventilation tube (slotted depending on the version), which is anchored in the surface covering by a HUNO® water-air cap. The square cap design simplifies floor-level installation. The depth ventilation is manufactured according to DIN EN 1433 and corresponds to load classes A and B according to FLL.
